1The App

Mochi Dash turns walking or jogging in place into a race. You stand a few meters from your iPhone, the front camera reads your movement on the device, and a kawaii friend runs on screen. The App needs no account and stores your progress on your device. See our Privacy Policy for details.

2Exercise safely

The App involves physical activity. You take part at your own risk and are responsible for your own safety.

• Use the App only in a clear space with a non-slip floor, away from furniture, stairs, pets and people, and make sure your iPhone is placed securely.
• Warm up, go at your own pace, and stop at once if you feel pain, dizziness, faintness, chest discomfort or shortness of breath.
• Check with a doctor before starting if you have a heart, joint or other health condition, are pregnant, are recovering from an injury, or haven't exercised in a long time.
• Keep children and pets clear of the area while you move.
• For squats, keep your back fairly straight and bend only as far as is comfortable; skip them if your knees hurt.

3Not medical advice

The App is for fun and general fitness motivation. It is not a medical device and doesn't diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. Steps, distance, calories and other figures are estimates and may not be accurate. Don't rely on them for medical decisions.

4Eligibility

The App isn't directed at children. You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent where you live if that's higher. Younger players should use the App only with a parent or guardian who has agreed to these Terms.

5Mochi Plus

• The App is free to use, including races, solo walks, levels, streaks, the small and medium widgets, backups, and every friend, track and accessory earned by playing.
• Mochi Plus is optional. It adds Walk time, the Night City and Maple Forest tracks, the crown friends Toro, Puddi and Kuri, eight crown accessories, five alternate app icons, Lock Screen and large Home Screen widgets, one forgiven rest day every week for your streak, a monthly recap picture, full history, and saving sessions to Apple Health. Plus does not skip levels or wins. Content included with Plus may grow over time; if Plus ends, Plus content locks again, but your progress, saves and the app icon you chose stay.
• Mochi Plus is sold as an auto-renewable subscription (monthly or yearly) or as a one-time Lifetime purchase, through Apple's App Store. Prices are shown in the App and on the App Store before you buy, in your local currency.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period and price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• If a free trial is offered, it is available once per Apple ID, and it converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Any unused part of a free trial ends when you purchase a subscription.
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions in Settings › your name › Subscriptions on your iPhone. Canceling stops future renewals; you keep Plus until the end of the period you've paid for.
• To get back a purchase on a new or reset device, use Restore purchases on the Mochi Plus screen with the same Apple ID.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store's policies; we can't issue refunds directly.

6Levels, points and items

Points, levels, wins, streaks, friends and accessories are a free in-App progress mechanic. They have no cash value and can't be bought, sold, exchanged or transferred. Because progress is stored on your device, deleting the App deletes it unless you have exported a backup in Settings › Backup. You are responsible for keeping your backup files; we can't recover progress that wasn't backed up. We may change how progress works in a future update, which doesn't entitle anyone to a refund or compensation.

7Apple Health and backups

If you choose to save a session to Apple Health, the App writes a workout and its estimated active energy to the Health app on your device. You control this in the Health app and can delete those entries there at any time.

Settings › Backup lets you export your progress as a file and import it later, free of charge. Importing replaces the progress on that device after you confirm. Only import files you made with the App; a backup edited by hand may be refused or partly ignored.

8Walk time

Walk time is an optional Mochi Plus feature that uses Apple's Screen Time. At the time you choose, other apps are locked until you walk the minutes you chose in the App, do the squat pass (a few squats in front of the camera, once a day; 5, rising on days in a row up to 20 and back to 5 each week), or use one of two skips each week; they open again at 23:59. Mochi Dash and phone calls stay open. Choose the apps you allow carefully, since a locked app can't be opened until you walk or skip. You can turn Walk time off in the App, or remove Screen Time access in Settings › Screen Time, at any time. Don't rely on Walk time in situations where you need an app urgently.

9Acceptable use

Don't try to reverse-engineer, modify, disrupt or interfere with the App, or use it in a way that breaks the law or harms others.

10Ratings and sharing

The App may occasionally show Apple's standard rating prompt. Result pictures can be shared or saved through the iOS share sheet. Both are optional and covered by Apple's terms and the terms of whatever app you share through.

11Intellectual property

The App, including its design, code, characters (such as Mochi and friends), artwork and branding, belongs to the developer of Mochi Dash and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms give you a personal, non-transferable license to use the App on Apple devices you own or control, as set out in the Standard EULA, and no other rights.

12Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that movement will always be detected correctly, for example in low light or when you are partly out of frame.

13Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, the developer of Mochi Dash isn't liable for any injury, damage or loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App, including injuries during exercise and loss of progress. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't be limited under applicable law.

14Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time and will change the effective date above when we do. If you keep using the App after a change, you accept the updated Terms.

15Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the developer operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where your local consumer-protection law says otherwise.
