Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") cover your use of CoupleBites (the "App"), a food diary you can keep on your own or share with a partner. By downloading, installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.

1The App

CoupleBites lets you log what you eat as photo stickers, keep a streak, raise a slime, and watch a monthly recap. If you like, you can share the diary with one partner, so you both see each other's meals. The App needs no account. It stores your diary on your device and, if you're signed in, in your own iCloud. It doesn't send your diary to any server of ours.

2Eligibility

The App isn't directed at children. You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent where you live if that's higher.

3Your content

Photos and other entries you create ("Your Content") remain yours, and we claim no ownership of them. Your Content is stored on your device and, if you're signed in, in your own iCloud. You're responsible for what you add to a diary you share with a partner. We recommend exporting a backup from Settings now and then.

4Sharing with a partner

You can share your diary with one partner through Apple's iCloud sharing, by sending them an invite link. Both of you need the App and a signed-in iCloud account. Once connected, every meal either of you logs is shared, along with reactions and your shared slime. Syncing relies on iCloud and your internet connection, so changes can take a moment to appear. We aren't responsible for delays or outages in Apple's services. Either of you can end sharing at any time; what each of you keeps afterwards is described in our Privacy Policy.

5CoupleBites Pro

  • The App is free to use, including logging, sharing with a partner, the shared slime, reactions, streaks, the widget, iCloud sync and manual backup. Free accounts see the last 30 days of history and the current month's recap.
  • CoupleBites Pro is optional. It adds your full history, past recaps and sharing them, place tags, Pro-only slime accessories and avatar icons, and 3 streak freezes instead of 1.
  • Pro is sold as an auto-renewable subscription (monthly or yearly) or as a one-time Lifetime purchase, all through Apple's App Store. We never see or handle your payment details. Prices are shown in the App and on the App Store before you buy.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel them in Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions on your device.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store's refund policies; we can't issue refunds directly.

6Slime levels and accessories

Your slime levels up as you log meals: one level for each day with a meal, plus a bonus for days you both logged. Levels unlock cosmetic accessories and new looks; some accessories are part of Pro. Levels and streaks are a free in-App progress mechanic. They have no cash value and can't be bought, sold, exchanged or transferred. We may change how they work in a future update, which doesn't entitle anyone to a refund or compensation.

7Acceptable use

Don't use the App to store, create or share content that is illegal, infringes someone else's rights, or is meant to harass or harm another person. Don't try to reverse-engineer, disrupt or interfere with the App.

8Ratings, reviews and sharing

The App may occasionally show Apple's standard rating prompt. "Write a Review" opens the App Store's review screen, and "Recommend to Friends" opens the iOS share sheet with a link to the App Store. Both are optional and covered by Apple's terms and the terms of whatever app you share through.

9Intellectual property

The App, including its design, code, characters and branding, belongs to the developer of CoupleBites and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms give you no rights to the App's source code, trademarks or branding beyond what you need to use the App.

10Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any particular feature (including partner sharing) will always work as expected.

11Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, the developer of CoupleBites isn't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App, including loss of data that wasn't backed up.

12Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time and will change the effective date above when we do. If you keep using the App after a change, you accept the updated Terms.

13Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the developer operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where your local consumer-protection law says otherwise.
