These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of CoupleBites (the "App"), a mobile application for logging meals and sharing them directly with a partner. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
CoupleBites lets you keep a personal food diary and, optionally, share a logged meal with your partner's phone over a direct, local connection (Bluetooth / Wi-Fi) when you're physically near each other. The App does not require an account, does not use a server or backend of any kind, and does not send your diary or photos anywhere over the internet.
The App is not directed at children. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if higher) to use the App.
Photos, notes, and other entries you create in the App ("Your Content") remain yours. We claim no ownership over Your Content. Since everything is stored locally on your device, you are solely responsible for keeping your own backups (via the in-app export feature) and for anything you choose to share with a partner.
The "share a meal" feature works only between two nearby devices running the App, using a short-lived QR code and a direct peer-to-peer connection. It requires Local Network permission and depends on your device's Bluetooth/Wi-Fi and physical proximity — it is not guaranteed to succeed every time, and we are not responsible for a connection that fails or times out.
CoupleBites offers optional Pro features (such as data export/import) through in-app purchases and auto-renewable subscriptions, processed entirely through Apple's App Store — we never see or handle your payment details.
You agree not to use the App to store, create, or share content that is illegal, infringes someone else's rights, or is intended to harass or harm another person. You agree not to attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or interfere with the App's normal operation.
The App itself — its design, code, and branding — is owned by the developer of CoupleBites and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to the App's source code, trademarks, or branding beyond what's needed to use the App as intended.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any specific feature (including partner-sharing) will always work as expected.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer of CoupleBites will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App — including loss of data that was never backed up.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above. Continuing to use the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer operates, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions, except where local consumer-protection law requires otherwise.
