Privacy Policy
Layerly (“we”, “us”, “the App”) is a skincare routine companion. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles and how it is used. By using Layerly, you agree to this policy.
1. Who we are
Layerly is provided as a consumer iOS application (bundle ID com.tnson.layerly).
For privacy questions, contact:
tnson@bwaco.vn
or open an issue on
GitHub.
2. Information the App stores
Layerly is designed to keep your routine data primarily on your device. Depending on how you use the App, this may include:
- Product shelf details you enter (name, brand, step, usage slot, notes, PAO / expiry dates).
- Routine completion history and streak-related preferences.
- Optional product photos and optional daily progress / check-in photos you capture or choose.
- App preferences (language, reminders, skin profile settings you choose).
- Backup files you export or import (including optional iCloud Drive copies you enable).
Photos and product data are stored in the App’s local storage / Application Support on your device (and in any backup destination you explicitly choose).
3. Face data and progress check-in photos
If you choose to take or select an optional daily “progress” / glow check-in photo, that image may include your face. Layerly treats these images as user-provided photos for your personal timeline only.
- What is collected: Standard camera or photo-library images (JPEG files) that you voluntarily capture or select. The App does not collect TrueDepth mesh data, face geometry, biometric face templates, Face ID data, or ARKit face-tracking maps. The App does not run facial recognition, skin diagnosis, or identity matching on these photos.
- Planned use: Display in your Progress gallery / timeline and related on-device screens so you can visually compare day-to-day glow. Photos are optional; you may Skip capture.
- Sharing: We do not sell face photos and do not share them with advertising, analytics, or other third-party partners. We do not operate a Layerly server that receives these photos.
- Storage: Progress photos are stored locally on your device in the App’s private Application Support storage (ProgressPhotos). If you explicitly use Pro backup/export, copies you choose to export may be included in a backup file you save (for example to Files or your own iCloud Drive). Those copies remain under your control in the destination you select.
- Retention: Photos remain on your device until you retake/replace a day’s photo, delete related app data, clear Progress photos via app features that remove them, or delete the App. Exported backup files remain wherever you saved them until you delete those files.
- Deletion: Deleting the App removes on-device Progress photos stored by Layerly. Replacing a day’s check-in overwrites the previous local file for that day. You may also delete exported backups you created.
4. Permissions
- Camera — to photograph products or optional progress check-in photos, only when you use those features. Progress photos are stored for your on-device timeline and are not used for biometric identification.
- Photo Library — to let you pick product images or a progress photo you choose to attach.
- Notifications — optional reminders / expiry-related alerts if you enable them.
- iCloud Drive (optional) — only if you use cloud backup features available to Pro users.
5. Purchases
Optional Layerly Pro purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through StoreKit / your Apple ID. We do not receive your full payment card details. Apple’s privacy terms also apply to purchase processing.
6. Analytics, advertising, and selling data
Layerly does not sell your personal information. The App is not built around third-party advertising SDKs. We do not operate a separate Layerly account server that collects your shelf or progress photos for marketing.
7. Children
Layerly is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). Do not use the App if you are under the applicable age.
8. Data retention and deletion
Data remains on your device until you delete it in-app (for example archiving/removing products or replacing progress photos), clear App data, or delete the App. Exported backup files remain wherever you saved them until you delete those files. See also Section 3 for face / progress photo retention and deletion.
9. International users
Because data is primarily on-device, processing generally occurs on your iPhone. If you export backups to cloud services you control (for example iCloud), those providers’ terms also apply.
10. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
